INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS IN BELGRADE BELGRADE LAND DEVELOPMENT PUBLIC AGENCY OCTOBER 2015. DEPARTMENT FOR DESIGNING AND PLANNING DOCUMENTATION www.beoland.com 5 1 2 4 3 BELGRADE RING ROAD In terms of motor traffic, Belgrade Ring Road is of the great significance for the future city traffic network and it reflects on all modes of transport, as well as on the overall development of Belgrade. Belgrade Ring Road is comprised of several roads, which, mutually connected, form the ring around the City, with two bridges across the Danube River and the Sava Bridge. This traffic route with all of its sections is included in the Beoland’s Program, and its parts are in diferent development phases. The Ring starts from Topcider, leaving the Inner City Semi Ring Road and goes through the Rakovica valley along the Patrijarha Pavla Street, and it further goes along Pere Velimirovica Street and Borska Street. It continues to the “Lasta” Interchange and then intersects with the Belgrade-Nis motorway. It not only intersects with the motorway, but also connects to the External Arterial Tangent Road (EATR) via Mokroluska Street. External Arterial Tangent Road (EATR) goes along the eastern edge of the city and further along the Mirijevski stream and towards the Danube River, at Ada Huja island, where it crosses the river by the bridge going to the left river bank of the Danube, and continues towards the Pancevacki Road, forming an interchange with it. From Pancevacki Road it continues as the North Tangent Road which is currently under construction. The importance of this city ring road in traffic terms is not only in connecting the city into one transportation network, but also in development of all other transport modes. Better connection between air (“Nikola Tesla” Airport) and road traffic will be achieved. In the area of the new industrial zone, at the left bank of the Danube River, downstream the Pancevo Bridge, the EATR will be intersecting with water traffic as well (Danube River waterway), and also will connect to the railway, via the railway gauge entering this zone. By planned construction of these facilities, the City of Belgrade will become the shipping and transportation center not only of Serbia, but also in the Balkan Peninsula, being the hub combining four types of transportation: road, rail, river and air transport. Besides indubitable transportation functions, construction of these roads vitalizes empty areas in the zone of “Lasta” Interchange and at the left bank of the Danube River, which may be the subject of new land acquisition, new construction and development of these parts of the City. 1 PATRIJARHA PAVLA STREET FROM ‘’HIPODROM’’ INTERCHANGE TO PERE VELIMIROVICA STREET The subject of the project is the road in the length of 3.5 km. They are spreading in all directions and connecting the rings around the city or the parts of these rings, or make the connection with the roads connecting the City of Belgrade with other towns. Radial roads that shall be improved within the network are as follows: 1. Nova Kumodraska Street; 2. Trgovacka Street – the connection to the bypass road; 3. Juzni Boulevard; as well as the whole range of roads within the network which need to be permanently improved and developed due to increased level of motorization, and transport technology. Taking into account the criteria, transportation needs, the degree of implementation of the project, the possibility of resolving the property issues, the construction of the following roads has been estimated as the priority: Trgovacka Street – connection to the bypass road. This road connects central city areas with the Ibarska Arterial Road and Belgrade Bypass (extension from Trgovacka Street to the bypass). According to the planning documents, this road shall have three lanes per each direction, intersections at the city core, and three interchanges in the bypass zone. Nova Kumodraska Street - This road connects major part of the Municipality of Vozdovac to the motorway and is especially important because its route intersects with two traffic rings: ICSRR and wider traffic ring. Making a breach of the Nova Kumodraska Street up to the motorway along the Kumodraski stream and up to the intersection with Darvinova Street forms the connection to the existing route of Kumodraska Street which is already constructed up to the village of Kumodraz. 1 NOVA KUMODRASKA STREET FROM USTANICKA STREET TO DARVINOVA ST. The subject of the project is the road 1,65 km long with the width of the regulation line of approx. 25,5m with new bridge over the motorway and all accompanying surface intersections with the existing roads, as well as the service road along the Е75 motorway including approach ramps.
