Term: I Daily Lesson Plan Class: 3 Subject: Social Studies Chapter 1: History of Pakistan Time: 40 min Topic History of Pakistan Week: 1 (Day 1) Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the topic, students should be able to: Learn and acknowledged the rich history of Pakistan. Resources: Book page number 7 Pakistan flag Brainstorming: (05 minutes) Introduce the chapter to the students and with brainstorming activity write the word Pakistan on the board and ask students what they know about it? Make a word cloud using their response and write points one by one on the board. Teachers’ Exposition: (20 minutes) Introduce the topic to the students using their prior knowledge. Discuss with students about Pakistan history. Describe them that we get independence on 14th August 1947. Describe the history of Pakistan. Paste Pakistan flag on the board and ask students who design it and what does the green show in the flag. Describe them the struggle carried by the Muslims in getting independence. Video: (10 minutes) Show students a documentary on the independence movement. Resources: Book page number 7 Projector Laptop Starter activity: (05 minutes) Start the lesson by discussing the history of Pakistan with students give a brief introduction to the history before the independence of Pakistan. Introduce students with the concept of “Civilization” Main activity: (30 minutes) Inform students about Indus Valley Civilization. Describe the about Indus Valley Civilization. Use projector to show a documentary about Indus Valley Civilization to students. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhDY4KJuvc0 Discuss with students about the documentary. Describe them that Indus valley civilization existed near river Indus in 3300 BC. Inform students about the concept of BC and AD. Describe them about archaeology and archaeologist. Main activity: (20 minutes) Discuss with students about Indus valley civilization. Discuss what archaeologist believe about the people of Indus valley civilization. Describe them how they discovered about the people of Indus valley civilization Describe them that the Indus valley civilization is known for its modern city planning, irrigation system, farming techniques and trading. Explain them that Indus valley civilization is a peaceful civilization as archeologist do not find any evidences of war. Discuss the reasons of the end of Indus valley civilization. Wrap up: (05 minutes) Conclude the lesson by asking students what was the Indus valley civilization famous for? Why did indus valley civilization end? Resources: Book page number 8 Map of Central Asian countries Starter activity: (10 minutes) Start the lesson by asking students about the history of Pakistan? Ask students about the early history of Muslims? Ask them about Indus valley civilization? Introduce with students about the topic which they are going to study in the present class? Main activity: (25 minutes) Inform students about the Aryans. Explain them that after Indus valley civilization Aryans came, know which is known as Pakistan. Tell students that Aryans were nomadic hunters. Explain them about Central Asian countries by using the map of Central Asian and show it to students. Explain students that after the Aryans, Hindu kingdom came into power. Tell them that new religions like Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism were practiced in these regions i.e. regions which are pointed. Explain the students what the Aryans used to make for their work. Wrap up: (05 minutes) Conclude the lesson by asking students who were the Aryans? What was the new religion that came into existence after the Aryans came into sub-continent? Class work: (05 minutes) Do Q.2 and Q.8 on pg no. 11 and pg no. 13 of the skill book. Home work: Do the following questions on your copies: Who were the Aryans? What do archeologists believe about the peoples of Indus valley civilization? What does B.C stands for? What does A.D stands for? Wrap up: (05 minutes) Conclude the lesson by asking students about the religion that came into existence after the Aryans came into sub-continent? And ask them how the Aryans were? Explain them that Muhammad Bin Qasim was the person who bring Islam into sun-continent? Tell students that Muhammad Bin Qasim was young Muslims General who came to Sindh on behalf of the Muslims Kingdoms in Iraq 712 A.D. Explain them about contributions of Muhammad Bin Qasim. Explain students that after him there were Muslims kingdom that will be Pakistan and India. Describe them that the first Mughal Emperor was Babar. Tell students that Babar began his rule in 1526. Tell them that the last Mughal Emperor was Bahadur Shah Zafar in 1857. Draw a timeline on the board and tell about all the Muslims Emperors who roles the kingdom in Pakistan and India. (see from notes) Explain students about the contribution the these kings Explain them that they made some building.
