The 1st team has been building over the past 5 years and Masoom’s each year there have been improvements that we can all be proud of. We are not ever going to be perfect but we should always try to better ourselves. We may be a small club but there are a large amount of hard working members in this club making it great. We need to keep committed and passionate about this club because village cricket is built on team Tandoori Restaurant work and passion for the game. We are lucky to have this in abundance and I can't see why 2013 won't be any different from the last 5 years as we keep building and moving forward as a club. Fingers crossed for some sun in May and we can hit the league season with a bang. We were The Laurels, High Street, Goring-on-Thames, RG8 9AT very much in the hunt for promotion last season and that is something we should all be pushing for again. So commit to your club, fill your weekends with cricket and enjoy another summer of success. Sunday Captain – Donovan Norman: Masoom warmly welcomes you to experience dining in his restaurant set 10th July 2013, it’s 11:00am and the first ball of the Ashes tour will be bowled at Trent Bridge, the spirit of cricket couldn’t be any higher. You watch the bowler run up, and imagine…is the ball in the picturesque South of Oxfordshire village of Goring-on-Thames. going to hit the middle wicket, the pad, shout for LBW, or a Jaffa. The crowd is behind you on this one. GCC Sunday cricket can provide a sensational game of friendly cricket for all ages and players. GCC cricketers on the field will be thinking of taking the winning catch at point, scoring the winning vital runs or bowling the ‘ball of the century’. For the second year as captain, I look forward to building that spirit and enthusiasm in the team taking part for GCC Sunday this season. I want to see them achieve their biggest and most exciting performances and highlights Opening Hours: for GCC, which can later be measured against their sporting heroes…let’s make legends. Lunch: 12:00 to 14:30 (everyday except Friday) T20 Captain – Jonny Russell: Dinner: 17:30 to 23:00 (everyday) A few years ago the world had not heard of the GCC Ultras – well after a hugely successful inaugural season in 2011 and our first foray into competitive T20 in 2012 you can safely say the world has heard of the Ultras now! Well known throughout South Oxfordshire and beyond we brighten any villages Wednesday evening with our pulsating cricket, luminous pink shirts and orange balls. And there is a rumour our stumps will have Big Bash flash technology in the near future….. I was delighted by the range of players that competed in pink in 2012, from Goring regulars to academy stars and GCC legends, it was truly a fantastic team to be part of both on and off the pitch. We will be frequenting the Catherine Wheel once again post-match and I can assure you To avoid disappointment, we advise you to that experience will be even better than last year. make a reservation on: 01491 875078 For about a month in 2012 we topped the South Oxfordshire T20 League and despite being unable to hold our position at the summit it was a hugely credible first season and we will be seen as a dark-horse to win the league in 2013. So let’s go out and show our GCC flair once again this season! www.masooms.co.uk Remember – Wednesday night is Ultras night! CLUB RECORDS Most Wickets in a Season W.
