Section open to CAE accredited goats only. (Accredited by SAC) (Please note that you cannot enter if in the process of becoming accredited as in they have passed the first blood test but not the second.) 2. A Boer Goat Young Handler Section will again be held in line with other Young Handler Sections in the schedule which will be held on Saturday. A Sunday programme of classes will also continue. Exhibitors please note that only those who have exhibited on Saturday can compete on Sunday. All exhibitors must arrive either on Friday or Saturday at the stipulated times and must remain on the Showground for the full two days of the event. 3. Goat exhibitors are reminded to complete the new EIDCYMRU AML 1 form or equivalent if you are coming from England or Scotland. Each individual animal identification should be listed on the form. The movement licence must be FULLY completed prior to arrival and be ready for inspection at the gate by the Stewards. 4. The Goat Classes are held under the rules, regulations and recognition of the BBGS. All exhibits must be registered with the BBGS as in the ownership and in the name of the exhibitor, the registered name and number being quoted on the entry form. 5. The Society reserves the right, at their discretion, to amalgamate classes which have less than three entries. 6. No pregnant goat may be admitted to the Showground. In the event of an unforeseen kidding or abortion, the goat must be immediately isolated from other goats. Full details of the goat, exhibitor and action taken must be reported in writing by the Chief Steward to the BBGS Secretary, immediately after the Festival. 7. To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, the use of any substance containing toxic chemicals, (including sheep dips to prepare goats for showing), whilst on the Showground is strictly forbidden. Any defaulter will be asked to leave the Showground and entry refused the following year. 8. Please familiarise yourself with the rules at the back of the schedule including Special Regulations relating to Sheep & Goats. In the event of the Society being unable to stage the exhibits concerned, the entry fees will be refunded in full. However, the boer goat must be shown to its best advantage to the judge. • The boer goat does not have to be the property of the competitor. • The competitor must be prepared to answer basic questions relating to his or her exhibit by the judge. Page 45 • It is a condition of entry that all handlers, and especially children, should only handle animals where they have the necessary strength and experience to cope with the said animal. • No parent or adult helper to be present in the ring during the competition. • All competitors to wear white coats. • Admission for children 16 years and under will be FREE therefore no ticket is required. • NO ENTRY FEE • Rosettes will be awarded to 1st – 6th prize winners. All other exhibitors will receive a Highly Commended Award. Best Boer Goat Pen Award To be judged over the two days, with presentation to the winner in the Boer Ring/Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. Gwobrau ● Prizes: Winner - A Special Rosette & £10 • All Boer Goat exhibitors will be considered for this award • Exhibitors are invited to look upon their pens as a herd display, with relevant information & Geifr Boeraidd Boer Goats material. • Any other farming activities and livestock kept at home should not be part of the display. The award will be judged on the following criteria: • General cleanliness of the pens and presentation of the goats. • Marketing and promotion of the herd. • Information about the breed/s on display. • The overall effect and impact of the above three categories. The use of decorative materials such as floral displays should be restricted and will not be included in the marks. Kit pens will not be considered in the judging. Page 46.
