Amtrak/Folsom Light Rail Corridor Project Folsom Extension Station Fact Sheet The Sacramento Regional Transit District’s 7.3-mile extension from Sunrise Boulevard to Historic Downtown Folsom was designed to improve public transit service within a 23-mile corridor following Highway 50 between the Amtrak Station in Downtown Sacramento and the city of Folsom. The $261 million Amtrak/Folsom Corridor Project consists of four areas of improvement including 10.7 miles of additional track, 10 stations, enhanced signaling and 14 new light rail vehicles. Completed in 2006, the Amtrak/Folsom Corridor Project added more than 6,000 daily passengers.
