Exciting opportunity to attend the 2020 European Scout Jamboree Calling all leaders After a gap of nearly 15 years, since the UK hosted the last European Jamboree in 2005, the upcoming European Scout Jamboree will take place in Poland in July/August 2020. Building on the fantastic programme developed as part of their World Scout Jamboree bids the Scouts and Guides of Poland invite you to join them for 11 days of activities, combining the chance to develop new skills, make new friends from across Europe and experience Poland’s beautiful countryside. Based on its own island close to the city of Gdansk, the purpose built site is within walking distance of beautiful sandy beaches, pine forests and a short bus ride from the bustling city. For more information on this fantastic event visit: www.ej2020.org The Jamboree will be held on the same basis, and age ranges, as the World Scout Jamboree. We have also been allocated a unit of the same size as a World Scout Jamboree Unit. As a result we will be looking to recruit 4 leaders, to organise the unit, and 36 participants. As we expect demand to be high, a leader selection event will be held (date TBA) with a participant selection event held afterwards. Further details of the selection will be passed on to the districts, as it becomes available. At present we only details of the fee for the Jamboree itself (1850 Polish Zloty (approx. £376) for Leaders and participant and 1250 Polish Zloty (approx. £255) for IST), we do not have total costings which will include travel and insurance. In addition to the unit we have also been allocated 5 spaces on the International Service Team (IST).
