The challenge is to create the most powerful, inspiring artwork about the performing arts in Wyoming - Music, Dance, Theatre - in whatever medium you choose. PRIZE: $300 In addition to the cash prize, the winner’s work, and possibly any merit awards, will be exhibited at several ARTCORE concerts during the 2022-2023 season. Entries to the competition can be artwork of any type that depicts any element of Wyoming performing arts, as long as it is the main subject and focus of the artwork. RULES: 1. All entries must be submitted as digital JPEG copies of original unpublished artwork, conceived and created by the entrant for the competition. JPEG images should be no smaller than 4”x6” at 300dpi. Images may be submitted as attachments via email or uploaded to a file sharing service with the link emailed to ARTCORE. They may also be mailed on a USB thumb drive, which will be returned only if they are accompanied by a self- addressed, self-stamped envelope. The artist whose work is judged as the winner must have the original art available to be exhibited during the 2022-2023 season. 2. Artists must submit contact information - name, address, phone, email - and information about the artwork - medium used, size of the artwork, title - with a minimal entry fee of $15 which will cover up to three images. Additional images should include a fee of $5 per image. The artwork will be disqualified if the information and fee are not included. Entry fees may be paid online at PayPal.me/ARTCOREWY. Please include a note with entry information. 3. Each online submission or USB drive must be labeled legibly with the entrant’s name and artwork’s title. 4. Work done in any medium is acceptable. Size: Two-dimensional, 50”x50”maximum. Three-dimensional up to 80 lbs. 5. Submission of artwork to the competition constitutes agreement that the artwork may be exhibited and photographs of the artwork published in the ARTCORE 2022-2023 season brochure. Contestant’s artwork remains the property of the contestant at all times. 6. Entries may be submitted online via email to [email protected] with the subject “Visual Arts Competition Entry” or mailed to ARTCORE, P.O. Box 874, Casper, WY 82602. All entries must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2022. The winner will be announced by May 30, 2022. 7. Entries will be juried by Colorado Arts Council 2000 Fellowship Recipient Jean Gumpper, now of Florida. If the judge fails to find any of the submissions suitable, a winner will not be selected. 8. ARTCORE will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any discs submitted to the competition. ARTCORE’s mission is to provide opportunities for Wyoming artists and audiences. In addition to presenting a large performing arts series and being the keeper of the community arts calendar, ARTCORE encourages new work by holding competitions.
