Mousehole Reserves and Mousehole Women’s results are on page 27 02 35 Tim Richardson: Chairman’s Welcome Hello to you all for our last home match of the season, against our visitors Plymstock United from the other side of Plymouth. Always a difficult side to beat, they have had their best season for over ten years, finishing 3rd on this occasion. The First team have one match left after today, next Saturday at Vospers Oak Villa, who were relegated on Saturday as they now cannot catch up with second -bottom Penzance. Vospers suffered in 2015 from the sudden departure of the management team and half their first-team squad after finishing runners-up (sounds familiar?), and in their case they never fully recovered.. Since our last home match against Dobwalls ten days ago, which we lost 2-1 in a game which yet again could have gone either way (see match report on page 11), we went to sunny Bude Town on Saturday and came way with an impressive 3-0 win against all the odds - only 11 players available, no substitutes, two injuries during the match, a heroic team performance, a first win for three calendar months, and a clean sheet! After all the massive problems since Christmas - none of their own making - Steve and the lads fully deserved this and they made us feel very proud (match report is on page 7). The biggest victims of the January upheaval have been the Reserves. With more than half a dozen regular first-teamers either leaving in January or unwilling to turn out, the gaps had to be filled by players from the Reserves, leaving Harry’s side short of numbers and THIS SEASON’S WEST DIVISION CLUBS experience at Trelawny League level. As a result - and despite their best efforts - the Reserves are now on the brink of relegation, having found the run-in just too much. They’ll Grounds, postcodes & distances (from Trungle Parc) be safe only if Penryn crash in their last four games, or something happens at the AGM - both probably unlikely. So, spare a thought for the Reserves - but I’ve got no doubt they've got the character to bounce back next season (see page 13). PENZANCE: Penlee Park. TR18 4NE. 2 miles. PORTHLEVEN: Gala Parc. TR13 9LQ. 17 miles. The Women’s team came up against St Agnes away last Sunday and although losing 6-3 gave ILLOGAN RBL: Oxland Parc. TR16 4DQ. 22 miles. the prospective champions plenty to think about (see report on page 22). Dawn and Leanne’s WENDRON UNITED: The Underlane. TR13 0EH. 25 miles. team have one fixture left, which is scheduled for Sunday 14th May at home against Penryn PENRYN ATHLETIC: Kernick.
