After their successful performances in Southeast Asia and America, the Awa Odori Entertainment Troupe returns to Europe this summer Tokyo, Japan (June 12, 2015). Tokyo based Awa Odori Entertainment Troupe TAKARABUNE will visit Paris this summer to take part in the world’s biggest Japan-themed festival JAPAN EXPO 2015 (expected attendance: 250,000 people); and then will proceed to London to perform on the equally huge HYPER JAPAN 2015 festival (expected attendance: 90,000 people). They push the limits of this venerable Japanese art mixing tradition with modern elements, which results in a cool, powerful signature dance style recognized and loved all around the world. In 2014, TAKARABUNE performed in four countries outside their native Japan (USA, France, India, Hong Kong), and their show’s total attendance was more than 400,000 people, making the troupe’s very first World Tour a great success. What’s Awa Odori? This venerable Japanese traditional dance has more than 400 years of History, combining energetic dance routines with the thundering sound of Taiko drums.
