Mr. Lockamy has served as a commissioner since December 1, 2008. He served as Vice Chairman from December 2009 – December 2011, then as Chairman 2011 – 2013 and again 2014 – present. In grateful acknowledgement of his efforts, and as is our tradition, the Vice Chairperson will present Mr. Lockamy with a gaveled plaque. The Planning Board has heard certain findings of fact (as shown in attached documents) and determined that the request was consistent with the goals and objectives of the Sampson County Land Use Plan for commercial growth due to the fact this area is located along Hwy 242/N. Salemburg Highway, a major means of transportation. Based upon these findings, the Planning Board unanimously recommended approval of the rezoning request and the adoption of a zoning consistency statement.
