2020/21 Arterial Road Maintenance Program - South Gippsland Shire Internal use only - Subject to final funding announcements Pavement Reconstruction Sites Pavement Resurfacing Sites Community Gateways Program Foster Sites South Gippsland Shire Council Alliance Update - June 2020 Internal use only - subject to final funding announcements Pavement Reconstruction Sites Korumburra-Wonthaggi Road • Ch 14.10 to 14.42 $6.2 million South Gippsland Highway The Alliance will be delivering $6.2 million of pavement • Ch 84.56 to 85.32 reconstruction works at eight sites within South Gippsland • Ch 99.13 to 101.96 (three sites) Shire in the 2020/21 financial year. These sites include: Tarwin Lower Road Buffalo-Tarwin Lower Road • Ch 10.75 to 10.96 • Ch 1.64 to 3.07 In all, 66,204m2 of arterial roads totalling 7.20km in length will Fish Creek-Foster Road be reconstructed in South Gippsland Shire in 2020/21. This • Ch 3.30 to 4.95 represents 65% of the Region’s total pavement reconstruction program for 2020/21. Community Gateways Program High-Risk, High-Speed Rural Intersection Program Eight sites The Alliance completed works at eight sites under the High-Risk, High-Speed Rural Intersection Program in South Gippsland Shire during 2019/20, including: • Bass Highway / Simons Lane • Bass Highway / Wares Road • Boolarra South-Mirboo North Road / Limonite Road • Korumburra-Inverloch Road / Stewarts Road • Meeniyan-Promontory Road / Savages Road / Samman Road Nine towns / 25 sites • South Gippsland Highway / Samson Road • South Gippsland Highway / Whitelaws Track Community Gateways signs have now been installed at 23 • Strzelecki Highway / Samson Road sites across eight towns within South Gippsland Shire during 2019/20, and the Alliance will be delivering two more in The picture below shows the improvements delivered at the 2020/21: Strzelecki Highway / Samson Road intersection, with dragon’s teeth perceptual line marking and new warning signs on Completed 2019/20 approach to the intersection. • Korumburra (four sites) • Leongatha (four sites) • Meeniyan (three sites) • Mirboo North (four sites) • Nyora (two sites) • Poowong (three sites) • Tarwin Lower (two sites) • Venus Bay (one site) To be delivered 2020/21 • Foster (two sites) The Alliance was able to fund the Nyora, Poowong, Tarwin Lower and Venus Bay sites through savings from the initial rollout. This was a great outcome that allowed us to respond to the community following feedback from both Tarwin Lower and Venus Bay residents. Associated line marking and vegetation trimming will be completed at gateway sites in the coming weeks. South Gippsland Shire Council Alliance Update - June 2020 Internal use only - subject to final announcements Pavement Resurfacing Sites $10.2 million 46 pavement resurfacing jobs will be completed by the Alliance on arterial roads in South Gippsland Shire in the 2020/21 financial year.
