This 2016/17 edition will provide you with information on health and social care across the County. North Yorkshire County Council is pleased to be working with the Independent Care Group on this Care Services Directory. Last year has seen the biggest reform to social care in over 60 years, with the introduction of the Care Act from April 2015. It modernises the law, recognising the right of people to make their own decisions about their care and support, and new rights for carers. We are already doing, or working towards, many of the things that are new within the Act. We want people in North Yorkshire to maintain their independence for as long as possible and enjoy the best possible quality of life. Fundamental to enabling you to make the right decisions about care and support will be high quality information and advice.
