Roberts and Sarah Rutherford Roberts both of Tennessee. Isabella married William Lawson Franklin (born about 1829; died 1887?) 10 Mar 1864 Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. William Lawson Franklin’s father is believed to have come from Virginia. Six years after their marriage they are found on the 1870 White County, Arkansas census. By 1880 they are in Butler County, Missouri. William Lawson Franklin probably died 1887-88. His widow Isabella was in 1900 Noble, Oklahoma Ter- ritory where she filed her homestead claim on 2 Dec 1891. She is recorded on the Cleveland County, Okla- homa Territory census in 1900 where she states only 5 of her 8 children are still living. Also in the picture are 4 of her 8 children. Those pictured are daughters: Dorcas Jane Franklin (seated) born 1866; Louisa Franklin (standing) born 1865; sons: George Owen Franklin (standing) born 1874 and John Lawson Franklin (seated) born 1877. William Franklyn (1480?-1556), Dean of Windsor, was born at Bledlow, Buckinghamshire, probably about 1480, and educated at Eton and King’s College, Cambridge, where he graduated B.C.L. in 1504. He took orders, and in 1514 was appointed chancellor of the diocese of Durham and receiver of the bishop’s reve- nues. In 1515 he became archdeacon of Durham and master of the hospital of St. Giles at Kepyer, Durham. In Feb 1815 he was installed prebendary of Heydour-cum-Walton in the diocese of Lincoln, and before 1522 he was rector of Houghton-le-Spring, Durham, and held the prebend of Eveston, in the collegiate church of Lanchester, in the same county. As dean of Windsor he assisted at the christening of Edward VI and the funeral of Lady Jane Dudley, and his signature is affixed to the decree declaring the invalidity of the marriage of Henry VIII with Anne of Cleves.
