East Midlands Area of the Amateur Judo Association GRADING SYLLABUS Name: Club: AJA Number: V2 March 2018 Junior Syllabus Syllabus will be asked on techniques of previous grades, plus the grade being examined for. 10 year olds and above can attempt full yellow belt at their first grading. In all other circumstances Judoka can only grade a maximum of two tabs per grading. A minimum of 3 months must elapse between each grading attempt. CONTEST REQUIREMENTS ARE FOR GUIDANCE ONLY White Belt with 1 Red Tab Student understands Japanese terms: Student demonstrate bowing on and off the mat Matte - Stop/Wait and understands the Japanese term - Rei. Hajime - Begin Student demonstrates submitting by tapping Demonstrate Yoko Ukemi from a throw body with hand and mat with foot White Belt with 2 Red Tabs Ukemi – To include Ushiro, Yoko, Mae and Chugaeri. Migi and Hidari (Breakfalls to include O Goshi (Major Hip Throw) Back, Side, Front and Rolling.
