Course requires students to practice learning about key cultural and institutional elements in new and unfamiliar contexts and adapting operating, management, and marketing strategies to these contextual details. China National Health Commission Training Program on Precision Health Care and Translational Medicine A custom program for senior (Vice-presidents and Presidents) hospital administrators working for leading Chinese medical centers. The program combined daily on-site meetings with health care professionals at Washington University’s medical center to observe state-of-the-art cancer treatment and patient care. Each hospital visit was also paired with half-day workshops with Olin Business School faculty to help the participants understand the management, leadership and teamwork skills needed to provide these services. 2018-present Washington University-Fudan University EMBA Program Sustaining Value through Corporate Strategy A four-day required course focusing on multi-business and global strategy setting and leadership. Participants examined three key responsibilities for corporate strategists—finding growth, developing talent to sustain that growth, and managing performance. As a final project, students examine and critique these activities in their own organizations. Innovation Projects Course serves as a capstone to the EMBA program and requires students to develop a new business from ideation to formal business plan. The course runs over the last 1/3 of the EMBA program, with teams meeting monthly with the instructor for coaching sessions on various aspects of their business plan. It culminates with a formal presentation of the business idea to a panel of faculty and entrepreneurs in the final residency of the program. 2018-present IIT Bombay-Washington University EMBA Global Planning and Strategy Capstone simulation exercise at the end of the EMBA program.
