Have not heard of any of our members in TRIBAL COUNCIL California experiencing property loss from the wild fires. Hope Principal Chief: Lee R. Young everyone is doing well in these hazardous times. Active Enrollment now totals 193 members. A current membership roster is included Assistant Chief: Louis B. Watson with this newsletter. Members are requested to encourage their relatives to apply for enrollment. The year 2020 we will have COUNCIL MEMBERS continued achievements and challenges. June 2020 we will achieve 4 years since ratification of our constitution, and election of the Marsha Jo Butler, Secretary constitutionally prescribed tribal Council. All Tribal Council elected Barbara S. Hightower, Treasurer positions will be up for election in 2020. The election will be held in June 2020. Enrolled members qualified for the Tribal Council Mary S. Young are encouraged to apply to be on the ballot in 2020. An enrolled member may request a copy of the constitution and bylaws. In 2020 Clarence G. Ward an important period for our tribe we will begin to assemble a petition for federal recognition. Following 4 years of organization, Samuel R. Watson our first election since ratification of our constitution, we will prepare a petition for federal recognition. We need for everyone who has historic documents, research information related to our history to make such pertinent information or documents available for our petition. The need is for many members involved and information assembled. Example documents: photographs, military documents, affidavits, research documents, articles. TRIBAL COUNCIL: Tribal Council will meet in teleconference on November 9, at 10:00 AM. We will be discussing plans for 2020, election, fundraising, meeting in San Antonio in February 2020, and increasing participation in activities and organization. TRIBAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS: Tribal Identification Cards are available for $25, Identification Cards are valid for 5 years. The laminated Tribal Identification Cards, are an official means of identifying tribal members.
