Pine replaces Neil Chase, who left Bay Area News Group last month to serve as chief executive officer of CALmatters. “Frank has been a leader in digital innovation and has vast experience managing complex editorial operations and projects across properties, publications and platforms,” Hasse said. “In addition to leading SCNG’s newsrooms, Frank has been instrumental in helping define digital strategy for MediaNews Group properties across the U.S., including Northern and Southern California.” With more than 20 years in newspapers, Pine is a proponent of professional, fact-based news that is essential to maintaining healthy and well-informed communities.
