We also know that many students have found that the Gateway program provides an enriching journey that leads to personal and professional growth. GATEWAY LUNCHES Once a month, the Office of Student Affairs hosts a Gateway lunch in Anderson Dining Hall. These events are free for Gateway Students, and you can pick up your voucher for your meal at the cashier’s desk. We reserve a table just for Gateway Students, which provides you with an opportunity to meet, get to know, and chat with other Gateway Students. There is also always a representative from the Office of Student Affairs on hand to answer any questions you may have. Check your e-mail and ChathamU Mobile App for upcoming Gateway Lunch dates. GATEWAY NEWSLETTER The Office of Student Affairs sends a monthly e-mail newsletter designed to keep adult students informed of important news, as well as campus events that may be of interest to our adult student population. ALPHA SIGMA LAMBDA HONOR SOCIETY Alpha Sigma Lambda is the oldest and largest national honor society in America today which recognizes the achievements of adult students who accomplish academic excellence while facing the competing interests of work and home. Students are selected from the highest 20% of the students who have 24 graded credits. If you are an adult student who meets these criteria and are interested in applying for membership in Alpha Sigma Lambda, please contact the Office of Student Affairs at [email protected]. 3 GETTING STARTED AT CHATHAM After you have been accepted into Chatham University, there may still be a few things that you need to do before the first day of classes. Completing Your Admissions Requirements If your acceptance into Chatham is conditional upon receipt of all of your paperwork required for full admission, be sure to forward all outstanding materials to the Office of Admission before the academic term begins. If you are unsure which materials have been received by the Office of Admission, please contact your admission counselor. Pay Deposit, Tuition, and Fees In order to begin setting up your student account at Chatham (e-mail, access to intranet, and Chatham ID), you must pay your deposit. You can pay this deposit online. www.chatham.edu/ > Admission & Aid > Submit Your Deposit There are many options available to pay your tuition and fees at Chatham University. The Office of Financial Aid can assist you in finding the option most appropriate for you to finance your Chatham University education. Before the beginning of each term, you will receive an invoice for your tuition from the Office of Student Accounts. www.chatham.edu > Admission & Aid > Loans & Payment Options Check Your E-mail Regularly Your Chatham e-mail is the primary way that you will receive communications from the University. It is recommended that you check your Chatham e-mail daily so that you do not miss information about your classes, campus activities and important updates. Housing Decide if you are living on or off campus. If you are living on campus contact the Office of Residence Life. If you are planning to commute, fill out the Application for Commuter Status on my.Chatham.edu under My Tools. See page 9 for more information and details about living on campus. Getting your Student ID Card Every new Chatham student must obtain a student ID card. Once you are registered for classes, you can visit the Office of Student Affairs in Woodland Hall to obtain your ID. Your Chatham ID Card will be your official form of identification on campus. It will give you access to the Jennie King Mellon Library, the Athletic and Fitness Center, and other campus services. Your photo ID also allows you to use your meal plan and your Flex or Cougar dollars at Chatham dining facilities. 4 All students are required to have a Chatham Student ID Card. ID cards are issued through the Office of Student Affairs between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The process is quick and easy. It only takes a few minutes to have your picture taken and a card printed. A replacement fee of $25 is charged to students who request a replacement ID. Register for Classes Check in with your Academic Advisor to make sure that you have the classes you need for the first term. Complete Health/Immunization Records You will receive an e-mail to your Chatham University e-mail account from Med+Proctor shortly after you deposit prompting you to set-up your account, where you will complete and upload the required health and immunization record information. You will need to log in, create an account, and have information verified by your doctor’s office. See page 15 for more information.
