It is only open to dancers who are under the age of 5 and who have never competed and will not be competing in any other levels. No fee. Participation medals awarded. Register at side stage as announced at feis. Themed Special 2011- "Once Upon A Time"- Comp. # 840 Solo competitors- 16 bars of reel music Group Entries- 32 bars of reel music This is an "anything goes" special. Costumes and props are definitely allowed. Please feel free to be as creative as you'd like! John Patrick Power Memorial Special- Comp. #850 Open to all championship dancers. Requirements- One contemporary set dance at a different time signature from the one competed in championships. The winner of this special will receive the John Patrick Power perpetual trophy. Art- Competition #1010 Must have an Irish Theme. All medium/ forms of art accepted. All art must be turned in by Saturday at noon. U13 13&O Art 1010 1011 Music- Competition # U 13 13 & over All Ages Beginner Song 1001 1002 Intermediate Song 1003 1004 Beginner Vocal 1005 1006 Intermediate Vocal 1007 1008 Ensemble 1009 Beginner Song- Sing a traditional Irish song not to exceed 3 minutes. Open to music competitors who have not placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a song competition Intermediate Song- Sing a traditional Irish song not to exceed 4 minutes Beginner Instrumental- Two contrasting (jig and reel, air and hornpipe, reel and hornpipe, etc...). Traditional Irish tunes not to exceed 3 minutes. Open to musicians who have been playing less than a year and have not placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a music competition. Intermediate Instrumental- Three contrasting tunes not to exceed 5 minutes Ensemble- 2 or more musicians and Vocalists playing together one song or two contrasting tunes not to exceed 4-5 min. All ages welcome. No age groups for the ensemble competition. The Feis committee reserves the right to combine or split competitions as necessary.
