FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 11/16/2016 For further information, contact: Nichol Figueiredo, Public Information Officer & Webmaster Memorial Building 150 Concord Street Framingham, MA 01702 Tel: (508) 532-5437 Weston Aqueduct Use Framingham, MA - Since 2012, the Town of Framingham and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) have been working closely on easing no trespass restriction to the Weston and Sudbury Aqueducts. The original sections that were targeted for this program included the Weston Aqueduct from Water Street to the Sudbury River; and the Sudbury Aqueduct from Winter Street to Dudley Road. Since easing restrictions along these sections, we have received positive feedback from neighbors and the community regarding this pilot program. To continue this effort, the MWRA and the Town have identified an addition location along the Weston Aqueduct to ease the restrictions, allowing for pedestrian access. Recently, public access was granted for the section of the Weston Aqueduct running from Edgell Road to just west of Lyman Road. The criteria and model for access on this section of trail is based on the information we have compiled since launching the Weston Aqueduct Walking Trail Pilot in October 2012. The MWRA and Parks Department are currently coordinating the effort to open this next section up for pedestrian access. Removal of the gates currently prohibiting access to this location is anticipated in late November. This will allow for pedestrians to gain safe access to the aqueduct and continue providing additional recreational opportunities for neighbors and the community. Should you have any questions, please contact Elaine Intze of the Parks and Recreation Department at (508) 532-5960 ### Weston Aqueduct Welcome to the Weston Aqueduct walking trail.
