Viveiro is also famous for “Resurrection Festival”, one of the most famous hard rock & hard core music festivals that lasts for a week at the beginning of every July. It is the green Galicia that looks to the Can- tabric sea. Almost 100 kms of coast and nature paradises. From the peaceful O Bar- queiro stuary, to the awesome “As Catedrais” beach where you will find a huge natural monument created by the sea erosion. From the Sor River (freshwater fish and wild reserve), Eo River stuary (biosphere reserve). But also Foz, Viveiro and Ribadeo, villages with ports with an historical and tradition past. Sargadelos -in Cervo city council- one of the most remarkable and iconic galician pottery. Inland you will also find two hidden treasures: Serra do Xistral (Xistral moun- tains) and Mondoñedo. Xistral is dark and mysterious, peat soil and full of wild horses. Mondoñedo, in St. James North Way, has a ancient religious history with a wonderful eight centuries old cathedral. Mariña Lucense’s gastronomy is famous for the Cantabric Sea fish and Lou- renzá beans, flagship product. We need to highlight the value of the “Celeiro’s hake” and Burela tuna. Not only leisure, but also food with a wide offer of good restaurants to enjoy fish and seafood. Viveiro is well provided of charming accommodation, wi- sely located to be able to follow the race at the meantime. One of the most touristic and visited places is La Playa de Las Catedrales (The Cathedrals Beach) in Barreiros. It’s rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, which it’s recommended to visite during low tide. “Punta do Fuciño do Porco” (The nose of the pig) in O Vicedo -ten kilometers away from Viveiro- is another very touristic and famous place for sightseeing. You will find a wooden passageway that leads to the end of a cape at the entrance of the Viveiro estuary. All the region is crowded with attractive beaches.
