She moved to Los Angeles in 2010. She has released three albums and one EP. As a songwriter, she has written for Cher, Rihanna and Christina Aguilera, among others. Pergolizzi herself is a powerful rock singer, and she stays true to that on her new release “Lost on You,” following in the tradition of the likes of Chrissie Hynde, Chrissy Amphlett, Johnette Napolitano and Linda Perry. Like many earnest songwriters hellbent on love, Pergolizzi jams her fist in her chest and yanks out her heart on almost every song, making “Lost on You” intermittently overwhelming. But her raspy voice, intensely belt- ed, maintains attention, and her signature whistling, ukulele and wails add a full-bodied distinction to her performances.
