Prior to the 2005 season we had hopes and dreams of making it back to the Championship Finals with hopefully a better outcome. Unfortunately it was not to be. We had a roller coaster type season with lots of highs and lows. The lows were punctuated by not having our Manager Harry Muir with us for most of the season due to a life threatening illness. We are very fortunate to have a healthy Harry back this season as our pitching coach. The highs were the individual success of our players. We had a great cast of players as evidenced by the number of players selected as League All-Stars. The Majors were represented on the 1st Team All-Star selections by Mike Ambrose at 2nd base, Pete Babcock at 3rd base, Kyle Piwowarczkyk as an outfielder and Kirk Martin as a left handed pitcher for 2nd Team All-Star honours. This is why baseball and sports in general is so great. You need talent to win games, but you also need the intangibles such as team chemistry and leadership. Fast forward to the end of the 2005 season and we were a .500 team at 18 wins and 18 losses and we bowed out of the playoffs to the Barrie Baycats (who went on to win the IBL Championship) in the first round. We have been through a few changes going into the 2006 season to try and make us successful on the field, but also off the field. I gained a business partner in Roop Chanderdat who I have been friends with now for about 25 years. Roop brings a lot of knowledge of the league through his 12 years of playing in the League with such teams as St. Thomas, Stratford and also as a Majors Alumni. Roop will be looking after the GM role, Field Manager role to go along with his Co Owner duties. I think this will be the stability that we need to be successful in the long term and if the off season recruitment is any indicator then we should see some more quality players helping us to reach our goal of getting back to the finals. I would like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers, staff, players, members of the media and our fans who make our season possible. It is great to have all of you out to our games and we want you to know that we appreciate your support. Scott Dart Co-Owner & President WWW.LONDONMAJORS.COM , . , „ ,. , . „ „ making an impression! Each year I look forward to spring and more importantly the start of another baseball season. This year, 2006, will be my first year in a long time not putting on the uniform as a player. Since becoming a co-owner of the Majors in September 2005,1 have decided to hand up the spikes and start a new chapter in my baseball career. There are many new challenges ahead for both myself and the organization. I have assumed both the General Manager and Field Manager’s duties for the 2006 season. It has been a very busy off-season trying to recruit and assemble a competitive team of quality individuals. We have had good success and I have put together a roster that will be very competitive. I have stressed three main things to all of our players; HARDWORK, DEDICATION & RESPECT and we believe this is the foundation for a successful organization. Our goal is provide the players with a good environment so they can be successful and this should lead us to our ultimate goal which is to provide London with a Championship Team. Our off-field planning has also been challenging and at the same time very exciting. We have had a successful sponsorship drive and we hope to continue to build on our growing base of partners. We are still very active with supporting various local charities and we are strong believers in helping out in our community. To our fans, I want to let them know we will provide them with an exciting and competitive team and I want to thank them for their continued support. For the general public please come out to the park and give our organization a chance to show you a wonderful family experience at Labatt Park. I would like to thank all our staff and volunteers for their time and effort. Without them there no way we can play ball. Enjoy the 2006 Season! Go Majors!
