With sprawling green parks, refreshing beaches and pools, festive street fairs, world-class music and sports venues, and so much more, the five boroughs has something to offer everyone to enjoy summer in our city. The months of July and August also give young people a chance to continue learning and discovering outside of the classroom. This summer’s youth offerings include everything from astronomy and global fashion to learning Italian and kayaking. My administration remains committed to ensuring that residents and visitors alike have access to the cultural, recreational and educational opportunities that make New York City an international summer hotspot. The NYC Department of Youth and Community Development in collaboration with other City agencies has put together this handy guide with information about free and low-cost events in all five boroughs, and I wish you many fun-filled days as you explore our great city this summer. Sincerely, Bill de Blasio Mayor UPDATED 06.28.16 Dear Fellow New Yorkers: It’s that time of year again—summer in New York City!—and the Department of Youth and Community Development is pleased to present the 2016 New York City Youth Guide to Summer Fun.
