May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Gloria Collect Let us pray. God our Father, who by sending into the world the Word of truth and the Spirit of sanctification made known to the human race your wondrous mystery, grant us, we pray, that in professing the true faith, we may acknowledge the Trinity of eternal glory and adore your Unity, powerful in majesty. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. The Liturgy of the Word First Reading Exodus 34:4b-6, 8-9 Early in the morning Moses went up Mount Sinai as the LORD had commanded him, taking along the two stone tablets. Having come down in a cloud, the LORD stood with Moses there and proclaimed his name, "LORD." Thus the LORD passed before him and cried out, "The LORD, the LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity." Moses at once bowed down to the ground in worship. Then he said, "If I find favor with you, O Lord, do come along in our company. This is indeed a stiff-necked people; yet pardon our wickedness and sins, and receive us as your own." The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Responsorial Psalm Second Reading 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 Brothers and sisters, rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the holy ones greet you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Gospel Acclamation Gospel John 3:16-18 The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. A reading from the holy gospel according to John. Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus said to his disciples: God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Homily Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Universal Prayer Lord, hear our prayer! The Liturgy of the Eucharist Offertory Hymn Invitation to Prayer Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his holy Church. Prayer Over The Offerings Sanctify by the invocation of your name, we pray, O Lord our God, this oblation of our service, and by it make of us an eternal offering to you. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Preface Dialogue The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just. Preface Holy, Holy, Holy Memorial Acclamation Great Amen The Communion Rite The Lord's Prayer Acclamation For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Agnus Dei Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. Communion Hymns Saint Alphonsus Ligouri's Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You in Holy Communion, come spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and I unite myself completely to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. Meditation Hymn The Concluding Rites Post-Communion Prayer Let us pray. May receiving this Sacrament, O Lord our God, bring us health of body and soul, as we confess your eternal holy Trinity and undivided Unity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Solemn Blessing The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Deacon: Bow down for the blessing. May almighty God bless you in his kindness and pour out saving wisdom upon you. Amen. May he nourish you always with the teachings of the faith and make you persevere in holy deeds. Amen. May he turn your steps towards himself and show you the path of charity and peace. Amen. And may the blessing of almighty God, the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit, come down on you and remain with you forever. Amen. Dismissal Deacon: Go in peace. Thanks be to God. Recessional Hymn With Gratitude Praise the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endures forever. I first give thanks to Almighty God who called me, unworthy as I am, to share in the holy priesthood of Jesus Christ. God, in calling a man to the priesthood, initiates, encourages, and supports this call often through His people, many of whom I would like to now sincerely thank. To their Excellencies, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin and Bishop Robert C. Evans, for accepting me into the Diocese of Providence, my new home, and for your care and great and strong leadership in faith. To my late parents: even though they both passed away very young, they left a very strong foundation of faith in God and love for Him in me and in my siblings. My parents were the first and the best teachers of faith. They always reminded me and my siblings that whatever you have in the world, if God is not the center of your lives, you have nothing. Worshiping God was most important in their lives. I love you both so much and I think of you and pray for you both every day. I also believe that you are in a better place with our Lord and interceding before God for me and my siblings.
