How many of you are/were aware KENDRA (Kenley THE JEMCA and District Residents’ Association) came into being on 1st January 1970. Although we had existed as a residents’ association in other guises for many 2020 PLATE years prior to that, this is our ‘Golden’ Year. So a good time to introduce an updated image for our Cover page? Yes, CHANGE EVENT we have enjoyed our familiar and recognisable logo since 2014 but, surely, we no longer need the word ‘Magazine’ in the Title. The committee also feel 18 February - 31 March 2020 that we should depict a more modern and brighter image for this new decade. Naturally we are aware of Kenley’s heritage and you will note we UP TO have retained the Spitfire image in the new setting! * The prime suggestion for a changed cover was to use photos, ideally 10% OFF landscapes or other local scenes that would help reflect each of the four seasons when the magazine is produced. So if anyone has a recent local photo that could be used in a future issue, please forward it for consideration to [email protected] However, as editor, I cannot go on without a mention of Covid-19, the coronavirus issue as it now impacts this issue (see also Chairman’s Message on Page 6); a slightly earlier publication of this magazine would not have covered this topic, but so much content would have been inappropriate commentary for you to read. Chairman's Message Our first magazine of the new 2020 decade makes very interesting reading with important topics about our lives here in Kenley. The regular, but essential, AGM papers are still included – it would be too much for the editorial team to re-vamp what had been prepared ready for publication.
