LCSD will enhance the ways in which it communicates with community stakeholders and increase the engagement of various community groups by connecting schools, families, and partners county wide. GOAL TWO: LCSD is a Convener and Influencer of City, County and State Education and Economic Policies. LCSD will convene at least one county wide partnership gathering per year in order to connect Lincoln County elected people, organizations, and agencies in order to create partnerships that benefit our students and families throughout the community. GOAL THREE: LCSD will provide for the Health and Welfare of our Facilities. LCSD will continue to assess, monitor, and enhance all of its facilities and grounds such that every school is warm, safe and welcoming to all students, families and communities and learning experiences are supported in the healthiest environments possible. GOAL FOUR: LCSD will Identify the Need and Development of a LCSD Foundation (501 c 3). LCSD will investigate the development of a LCSD Foundation for the purposes of creating a funding source for valued activities we currently cannot pay for through the general fund such as art, music, theater, middle school athletics, some field trips, and other items desired by our teachers and staff. Feasibility, costs and sustainability will be investigated. GOAL FIVE: Demonstrate High Expectations For Student Achievement By Supporting an Equitable Education Framework. ALL LCSD students will demonstrate continuous academic and behavioral growth and achievement as demonstrated by the indicators. Covid-19 at First Student Lincoln County (as of 03/01/2021): Drivers are continuously reminded about the updates regarding the “new” Covid Protocols of Mask mandates and ventilation. Employees with glasses or breathing difficulties (asthma, allergies) share best practices on how to wear the mask at all times. 2. Recruiting & Branding Now that we are moving towards a more flexible phase of interaction, we are starting to show more presence in the community. Our recruiting team, is working on the following activities: • Two Open Houses to be held (1) in Toledo at the Burgess Yard on 03/17/2021 and (2) in Lincoln City at the Devils Lake yard on 03/27/2021 both from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During these events interested community members will have the opportunity to get to know First Student, enjoy individually wrapped snacks and refreshments, as well as taking the bus out for a ride…in the driver’s seat! • We will have a billboard ad placed in South Beach. • Our new banners have arrived, and we will hang them on school fences in all four areas. 3. DriverHub-Tablet Training Our staff is going through DriverHub that addresses new operation practices with this program. In the week of 03/29/2021, the DriverHub Training Team will be in Lincoln County to implement the system and train our employees. Drivers and monitors will receive their tablet training on March 30 & 31, 2021. On April 1, 2021 (no joke!), tablets will go live with the drivers. The tablets will allow for real time re-routing on TylerDrive, voice-2-text Incident reporting through FirstActs, and the logging of vehicle inspections for immediate communication for proper asset management. 4. Reopening At this point, we are following the reopening plan for our school district. On February 16, 2021, we transitioned from K-3 to K-6 routing which meant that started to run the full fleet with the return of the 4th through 6th graders. This change went smoothly with only a few issues regarding stop times and locations. On 03/01/2021, the return of the 7th & 8th graders went well. We had no extraordinary issues and business was as usual. 5. Driver/Candidate Status Report (as of 03/01/2021) 6. Sleeping Children Found & Driver Appreciation Day During the month of February, we had OOT (Out-of-town) drivers and local drivers find sleeping children after their AM runs.
