Here are some definitions that will help you understand more about paying for higher education. Tuition is the bill you receive for taking classes at a college or university. Tuition is separate from the other costs of attending college, such as paying for room and board, books, facility fees, and TUITION transportation. A grant is a monetary gift, most often based on personal financial need. A grant does not need to be GRANT repaid. A loan is money borrowed and repaid in a given amount of time, with or without interest depending LOAN on the legal agreement. The FAFSA form is completed each year to qualify for funding and is based on financial need.
