IZMIT BAY CROSSING AND ACCESS ROADS) Marmara and Aegean Regions which form the spine of Turkish economy will be connected to each other with a completely access controlled motorway. The industrial, commercial and touristic traffic between Istanbul, Kocaeli, Yalova, Bursa, Balıkesir, Manisa and Izmir, where one third of Turkish population lives, will be more comfortable and secure. This will generate major benefits in terms of savings in travel time, reductions in traffic through towns and cities, and improved safety and economic efficiency. GEBZE-ORHANGAZI-IZMIR MOTORWAY (Incl. IZMIT BAY CROSSING AND ACCESS ROADS) Km:0+000 Muallimköy Intersection 12 Km. 90 km. The distance between Muallimköy-Altinova Km:12+664 Altinova Intersection intersections around Izmit bay is 90 km long and will be shortened by 78 kms. The distance between Muallimköy-Altinova intersections around Izmit bay is 90 km and takes around 1 hour 20 minutes. It takes 50-60 minutes by ferry. However, Izmit Bay Crossing will take only 6 minutes. Compared to the existing state road between Istanbul and Izmir, the motorway will shorten the road by 100 km, will decrease the current 8,5 hour travel time to 3,5 hours and will save an annual 650 Million US dollars (time&fuel savings-2019 traffic values) GEBZE-ORHANGAZI-IZMIR MOTORWAY (Incl. IZMIT BAY CROSSING AND ACCESS ROADS) Applying the Osmangazi Bridge Toll at $15 instead of $35 In the relevant article of the implementation contract of the project, the starting ceiling price of Izmit Bay Bridge Crossing for cars is determined as $ 35 excluding VAT. With the inflation of $, the mentioned amount formed up TL 134,75 including VAT (%18) in 2016, which is a high price for motorway users. In line with Higher Planning Council decision, it was decided to apply the toll rate as 25 $. With a Council of Ministers Decision on reducing the VAT of bridge tolls constructed with BOT model to 8% GEBZE-ORHANGAZI-IZMIR MOTORWAY (Incl. IZMIT BAY CROSSING AND ACCESS ROADS) Applying the Osmangazi Bridge Toll at $15 instead of $35 With the increase of USD exchange rate by more than 20% at the end of the year 2016, again in accordance with the decision of the Higher Planning Council, it’s been decided to apply a toll of at least $15 for 2017. For 2018 and 2019, the toll is still $ 15. Thanks to these practices, it was ensured that both the citizens could pass the bridge with a lower toll and the number of vehicles passing increased, thus the Guarantee Coverage rates increased from 23% to 33% MARMARA REGION MOTORWAY INTEGRATION Motorway integration of Marmara Region will be completed together with Northern Marmara Motorway (3rd Bosphorus Bridge Included) Project and Kınalı- Malkara-Çanakkale-Savaştepe Motorway (Dardanel Strait Crossing Included) Project. Exchange rate update It will reduce financial costs by reducing twice a year hedging costs. With the reduction of Financial Costs, more effective contract periods will be introduced during the tender stage and the existing investment will be transferred to the Administration in a shorter period of time. EXCHANGE RATE UPDATE TWICE A YEAR AND PAYMENT OF GUARANTEED INCOME EVERY SIX (6) MONTHS DURING THE YEAR OF ASSESMENT With 6 Monthly payment, the Appointed Company will receive a guaranteed income twice a year, which will reduce the Liquidity requirement of the Company. Payment of Guarenteed Income Every Six Months During The Year of Since payment every 6 months reduces the maturity of Assesment Hedging transactions, this will reduce Hedging costs and financing costs.
