The University has also established the Centre for Internal Quality Assurance to ensure quality higher education. The University endeavours to run all the academic activities of the disciplines under the purview of these six Schools named after some renowned personalities of Assam to commemorate their contributions to the greater Assamese society and culture. Surya Kumar Bhuyan School of Social Sciences The School of Social Sciences has been named after the great historian of Assam Dr. Surya Kumar Bhuyan. There are seven disciplines under this school which are Economics, Education, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology and Social Work. These disciplines provide PG, UG, Diploma and Certificate programmes. Padmanath Gohain Baruah School of Humanities The School of Humanities has been named after the great litterateur and the first President of Axom Xahitya Xabha, Padmanath Gohain Baruah. There are mainly three disciplines under this school– Assamese, English, Sanskrit and Ancient Studies.
