INNOVATION in TEL AVIV TRAINING FOR EXECUTIVES TEL AVIV NONSTOP CITY "If people want to see the future of the world economy, they should look at Tel Aviv – home to hundreds of startups and research centers." Barack Obama The President of the United States March 21, 2013 Dear Students, China and Israel share many of the same values: they are both ancient cultures with rich traditions dating back thousands of years but which are facing forward and nurturing innovation, creativity and technology. Israel, the ‘Startup Nation’, boasts some of the world’s leading academic institutions and functions as an incubator for Noble Prize winners, groundbreaking researchers, entrepreneurs and visionaries. At the heart of the Startup Nation lies the Startup City, Tel Aviv, Israel's financial and cultural center. Academic institutions in the Greater Tel Aviv area offer high-level, international programs focusing on innovation, technology and management in one of the world’s most vibrant urban centers. We invite you to be a part of Israel's dynamic technology and innovation scene, and hope to host you soon at one of our excellent academic institutions. We hope to see you among the thousands of international students and academics currently living, studying in and enjoying our city. Sincerely, Ron Huldai Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo 4 Dear Students, Despite the thousands of kilometers that separate vast China from tiny Israel, the two nations share many similar values: both are ancient cultures; both place a high value on education; both are at the forefront of developments in technology and innovation; and both see progress as the key to prosperity and success. In recent years, the bonds between Israel and China have been strengthened. The government of Israel has set the strengthening of its bond with China as a strategic objective, and we are delighted that China has embraced this objective as well. One of the ways we have identified to bring the two nations closer together is through the exchange of knowledge. Many Israelis study Chinese language and culture. Similarly, many Chinese tourists seek to visit Israel. One of the main attractions is the city of Tel Aviv, the beating heart of the Israeli innovation and technology industries. Spending time in Tel Aviv allows one the opportunity to observe up close the processes which have made the city a global hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. This booklet describes the academic and enrichment programs the Greater Tel Aviv area has to offer. Many academic institutions in Greater Tel Aviv have formulated programs designed specifically for senior Chinese executives and students, and we are pleased to see that the number of such visitors is consistently on the rise. Sincerely, Matan Vilnai Ambassador of Israel to China 5 Tel Aviv is home to 13 startups per square kilometer - the highest concentration in the world Tel Aviv Climate: Max. Average temp. 28.3° c Min.
