Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Saint Mary Parish · Evanston, Illinois 5 Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Each year a number of people express their desire to become members of the Catholic Church. Or perhaps they are individuals already baptized and want to partake in receiving the Eucharist and complete their initiation through the sacrament of Confirmation. They are engaged or married to a Catholic, their child is preparing for a sacrament, or they are just searching for the “right” church. These individuals are experiencing the call of God in their lives, but all that is needed is a little encouragement to take that first step. They are your spouses, relatives, co-workers, neighbors and friends. They just need that word of encouragement, and you may be that person to offer it. Look around and see if that person is someone close to you. Pray for them and invite them to join us! If you or anyone is interested in The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) or need more information, please give Deacon Dennis Robak a call at 847 864-0333. 6 Saint Mary Parish · Evanston, Illinois July 15, 2018 RESPECT LIFE MASS INTENTIONS Murderous Indifference Saturday, July 14 5:00 Intentions of the Pope Last week during an ecumeni- Sunday, July 15 cal prayer meeting for peace 8:00 † Souls in Purgatory at the Mediterranean coastal 9:30 † Joe Villa city of Bari, Italy, the Pope sin- 11:00 Intentions of the Pope gled out indifference as a sig- nificant cause of the Middle Monday, July 16 East’s current plight. 8:00 For Our Parishioners Tuesday, July 17 This region, he said, is “the 8:00 † Souls in Purgatory Paul Catholic Haring, News Service crossroads of civilizations and Wednesday, July 18 the cradle of the great mon- 8:00 Intentions of the Pope otheistic religions,” a place in which “our very souls Thursday, July 19 are rooted.” 8:00 For Our Parishioners Friday, July 20 And yet, he said, it has been “covered by dark 8:00 † Souls in Purgatory clouds of war, violence and destruction, instances of Saturday, July 21 occupation and varieties of fundamentalism, forced 8:00 Intentions of the Pope migration and neglect.” 5:00 † Dean Mitchell Sunday, July 22 All this, he prophetically warned, has taken place 8:00 For Our Parishioners “amid the complicit silence of many.” 9:30 † Joe Villa 11:00 † Annela Auguste Indifference kills, and we desire to lift up our voic- es in opposition to this murderous indifference.
