Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, EWeek is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well- educated future engineering workforce by increasing the understanding of, and the interest in, engineering and technology careers. The year’s year theme is “Be a Pioneer of Progress.” 74% of Educators agree that students don’t have many chances to meet Engineers. We can change that. Talk to students about engineering, do hands-on activities, or display the Engineers Week poster which can be downloaded from here: http://www.discovere.org/our-programs/engineers-week I have my 7th/8th grade home room teacher, science teacher, and basketball and volleyball coach, Mr. Sementi to thank for introducing me to Engineering. I recently found out he is retiring after 31 years with the West Valley School District and know he influenced several others towards careers in engineering throughout his career. YMF is organizing our fourth annual Office Crawl for February 14, 2020.
