They may also help tackle some poor air quality issues. The Government has signalled support for electric vehicles (EVs) by announcing targets for the phasing out of petrol and diesel vehicles and financial support to encourage the uptake of EVs. We upgraded the charging points in three Council car parks last year and are exploring ways of increasing charging point provision to encourage the uptake of EVs locally. As part of this exploration we have a quick online survey to get an idea of resident’s views about the issue.
