Jeremy Raymond Watson th 8 Grade AP Introducing our new 8th grade Assistant Principle Jeremy Raymond‐ Watson. Although, Mr. Watson has a new position he is not new to the campus. He Started working at Lamar in 2009 as a teacher’s assistant. Enjoying working in the school system he went back to school to become a certified teacher. While working as a teacher, Mr. Watson wanted to further his career even more , pursuing a master’s degree to become a principal. A Conversation with Mr. Raymond‐ Watson Tell us about a teacher or class that had a big impact on you when you were in middle school My favorite classes in middle school were World Cultures, Art, and football/athletics. I have always been interested in traveling and learning about different cultures; studying and practicing drawing and painting techniques; in Art class; and competing with my peer group weight lifting, running, and other physical activities in athletics What is something unique about your teaching style? When I taught, I liked to figure out as many real life applications for lessons as possible. This gives students with perspective about the topic we would be studying. What do you like best about working at Lamar? It is a 50:50 mix between the students and staff. The staff are really like a second family. I have made friends, learned from my mentors, and gained valuable experience working alongside excellent veteran educators. The students are all great kids full of personality and spunk. They are the future, so I give my all to prepare them for it. What was the most exciting thing that happened to you this summer? I paid my car off! Other than that, I hung around Austin all summer, going to many trainings and workshops to prepare me for my new role in the new school year. What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends? I like to watch sports, read, listen to records, go to the movies, and sleep in when I can. Newsletter is emailed to the email address of the primary parent.
