The art of course was classic Watase, and I loved Imadoki: v. 4: Nowadays frame. The beginning of the story is hysterically absurd, and you don't think that this story will get off of the ground. The main character is appealingly surprising though, and her obvious love interest is adorable and full of conflict. Poor student at a rich school, teased for being poor, aloof potential love interest? If anything Imadoki: v. 4: Nowadays Imadoki from the hordes of similar books, it's that the heroine is unusually annoying, naive, and slow to catch on. Imadoki: v. 4: Nowadays, no thanks. That said, Yuu Watase is a great artist, and I do love looking at her work. It's a shame that I haven't yet found anything that by her that I like to read as much as I like to look at it. No mistaking them for something elsebut in the case of Watase, hers is so So many shoujo have this style that it just doesn't stand out. Imadoki centers around Tanpopo, who is an idealistic moron who doesn't have a single brain cell in that empty head of hers. While I don't mind characters You know, it seems I read a lot of works by Yuu Watase without even realizing it While I don't mind characters who are airheads sometimes, there's a limit to just how dumb they can get. How'd a girl with this low of an IQ get into a school like the one in this manga? I mean, really? I know this is fiction, but there's only so far you can go At least Boys Over Flowers' main character had a brain and a stubborn streak. Tanpopo is just too stupid to figure out when to give up. I was very disappointed in this. View Imadoki: v. 4: Nowadays comment. Aug 14, Eva Rose rated it it was amazing Shelves: manga-favs. Watase ought to stick to romantic comedy, it is what she does best after all, her dramatic storylines always dive into soap territory. Her art as always is flawless and some of the prettiest I have seen. She seems to draw better contemporary manga than anything else.
