Contract) Table 10: Local Employment Record (ICB-02 Contract) viii Executive Summary This is sixth bi-annual environmental monitoring report prepared for Pakpattan Canal & Sulemanki Barrage Improvement Project (PCSBIP). Details of activities performed under environmental and social aspects of the project during January 2017 to June 2017 are described in this report. Construction activities carried out on both contracts of PCSBIP i.e. Rehabilitation of Sulemanki Barrage (ICB-02) and Rehabilitation of Pakpattan Main Canal, Khadir Branch & PI Link Canal (ICB-01) are part of the report. Report also provides overall physical work progress of both projects up to June 2017. Sulemanki Barrage is on Satluj River and is designed to for 325,000 cusecs discharge and located about 20 km (12 miles) from Haveli Lakha and about 150km (94miles) from Lahore (capital of Punjab Province). Pakpattan Canal (PC) off takes from River Sutlej at right side of Sulemanki Barrage. The design discharge of canal is 6,594 cusecs at head. The total canal command area is about one million acres. This report provides overall status of Implementation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Environmental Safeguard Policies, EMP and other subplans such as HSE Management Plan, Fire Fighting Plan, Solid Waste Management
