Therefore, madrasah literally means "a place where learning and studying take place". Jamia Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur is an old Madrasa established in Saharanpur city of Uttar Pradesh, India. Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama is an Islamic institution at Lucknow, India, which draws large number of Muslim students from all over the world. 3 Jamia Darussalam is a renowned Islamic university founded by Kaka Mohammed Oomer, who laid the foundation for this institution on 7 December 1924 at the newly founded village, named after him as Oomerabad. Jamia Nizamia more properly, Jami'ah Nizamiyyah, is one of the oldest Islamic seminaries of higher learning for Muslims belonging to Sunnis in India.
