Listen to the clip as many times as you need to in order to complete the activities below. Task 3: Fill in the Gaps Copy the sentences and fill in each space with a name from the word bank below. An old gentleman named Mr. _____________ was standing in front of a bookstall, when the Artful ___________ and Charlie ___________ stole his handkerchief. _____________ saw what they had done and was scared; he ran away. Everyone thought that Oliver had stolen the handkerchief and a large crowd started to chase him. _____________ was hit on the head by a man and fell to the ground. A ______________ took Oliver to the police station and there he was taken to the judge. Mr _______ , the judge, sentenced Oliver to three months in prison. Thankfully, the _________ of the bookstall came rushing into the courtroom to tell the judge what really happened. The judge sentenced Oliver to six months in prison. 5. Mr Brownlow was mean to Oliver.
