In this document, “compatible products” are products with which 9.0.7 has been specifically designed to function. This document contains these sections: Required software To run VISUAL, you are required to install certain software. This section describes the components required to run VISUAL. Compatible software This section shows which VISUAL products, Infor products, and third-party products are certified for use with 9.0.7. For some software, a piece of integration software is required for compatibility. For example, if you use Infor CRM with VISUAL, you must use Infor ION to connect VISUAL and Infor CRM. Integration methods This section lists software that is used to connect VISUAL to another product. Certification statuses For each product listed in the tables, the current certification status is displayed. These statuses are used: Supported The product is certified to function with VISUAL on the version of Windows indicated. Pending The product is not yet certified to function with VISUAL. Certification is anticipated soon. Not Supported This product is not certified to function with VISUAL. 4 | Infor VISUAL 9.0.7 Software Compatibility About this document Products not listed in this document All compatible software is listed in this document. If a product or integration configuration is not listed in this document, then it is not certified to function with VISUAL. Products not listed in this document are not scheduled to become certified with VISUAL. Language packs Infor VISUAL 9.x.x is compatible only with the 9.x.x versions of VISUAL WizTom™ language packs. Previous versions of VISUAL language packs are not compatible with Infor VISUAL 9.0.0. Known compatibility issues The software listed in this section is compatible with 9.0.7 with the caveats described. • Infor VISUAL CRM. Infor VISUAL CRM is certified for use with the 32-bit versions of Microsoft Office applications. It is not certified for use with the 64-bit version. If you intend to use CRM in conjunction with 9.0.7, you should use the 32-bit version of Microsoft Outlook. • Infor VISUAL Quality and Infor Quality Management. Infor VISUAL Quality is not compatible with 9.0.7. Infor Quality Management (IQM) is the quality management system certified for use with 9.0.7. IQM is built on the Mongoose platform If you currently use VISUAL Quality, you can upgrade VISUAL Quality to IQM. To obtain entitlement to download this upgrade, open a support ticket indicating that you wish to download the IQM upgrade to VQ. The incident will be routed to your renewal manager, where the necessary system updates will be made so that you can download the upgrade from the Infor Xtreme download center. You can also contact your renewal manager directly. IQM 8.1.0 requires the use of Infor Reporting. Infor Reporting is not included in the maintenance agreement. You must purchase Infor Reporting separately to print reports and forms from the IQM solution. The IQM application, the IQM report content, and Infor Mongoose framework are included in the maintenance agreement. IQM 9.0.0 and later do not require Infor Reporting. SAP Business Objects (Crystal Reports) is not compatible with IQM. • CADLink. CADLink is compatible with SQL Server only. It is not compatible with Oracle. • DesignLink. To use DesignLink with Oracle 11g or Oracle 12c, you must use a 64-bit Oracle ODBC driver. • Master Product Configurator (Experlogix). The Master Product Configurator (MPC) database is single-byte. As a result, double-byte characters used in VISUAL may not be displayed or stored properly in the MPC database. For best results, use characters in the Latin 1 character set for configured parts. Infor VISUAL 9.0.7 Software Compatibility | 5 Required software Required software To run VISUAL, you must use a certified database engine, server operating system, and client operating system. You must also use the correct Gupta runtimes. Database engines and servers This table shows the database engine/server operating system combinations that are certified for use with VISUAL. Key: Supported Pending Not supported Windows 2012, Windows 2012 DB Engines for Server Windows 2008 Windows 2008 Windows 2008 R2 R2, and Windows OS 32-bit 64-bit 64-bit 2016 Oracle 11g (11.2) Oracle 12c (12.1) SQL Server 2008 R2 SQL Server 2012 SQL Server 2014 SQL Server 2016 Users of Windows 64-bit systems should make sure that the optional 32-bit support files are loaded before installing or running VISUAL products. These are normally installed by default. However, some systems may be running with a minimum of installed features. It is recommended that SQL Server 2008 databases be run in 9.0 or 10.0 compatibility mode. Note that Password Expiration is controlled by the VISUAL application (VM.EXE) so there is no need to set it through the SQL Server security settings. Also, the main VISUAL executables force passwords 6 | Infor VISUAL 9.0.7 Software Compatibility Required software to be different from the user ID. Therefore, there is no need to control this via the SQL Server security system. The SQL Server Native Client 10.0 should not be used with VISUAL products. Use of previous SQL Server ODBC drivers is preferred. Oracle users
