Image Credit: © Pmphoto Stock Free Images & Dreamstime Stock Photos The show rocks! f you just can’t resist a man in uniform, then prepare to give in entirely when Folsom Europe 2012 swings into “full gear.” Taking place in Berlin, one of the Continent’s top party towns September 5 – 11, anybody who has watched even a nanosecond of German porn knows just how serious this country takes fetish (and if you’ve never watched it, it can make Two Girls and a Cup look like a Sound of Music sing-a-long sung by a chorus of Marshmallow Peeps). This isn’t something you can just crash, no matter how leathered-up you are. It is a huge event, and not just with regard to how very, very, VERY serious the participants take it; Folsom Europe is absolutely packed with events covering/explaining/glorify- ing every aspect of leather, rubber, BDSM, sports gear, FemDom — you name it. 25,000 attended last year’s event alone, every one in costume. Add on to all of this the fact that Germans just love a good party, and have all but leveled venues in the quest for a good time. Many of the parties, fairs, dinners, tours, exhibitions (I can only imagine…), symposia, and even a bike run take place simulta- neously all over Berlin; some are official, others are tag-alongs by individual clubs, so a little planning goes a long way. Here are some of the “anchor events” that will give you a good taste—among other things—of how Europe likes, and licks, its leather: 1) The official Leather Dinner, on Sept. 6, with a welcome cocktail, 3-course-meal, followed by the official leather BBQ on the 7th. I’d imagine that if you are a vegan, keep it to yourself… 2) It goes without saying that dungeon parties are a cornerstone of the week, and you have a pornocopia of them to choose from: Connections on the 6th, Perverts on the 7th, PIG (the official Folsom Europe party) on the 8th, Son-of-a-Gun on the 9th, and the “Fuck the Leftovers” on the10th at Club Scheune. It may be good to know there are R&R pit stops sprinkled throughout the week so you can get your bearings. Those last three are considered the top events of the week. 3) If you think you have what it takes, step in front of the camera on the 9th at the BLF Fotoshooting.
