I am currently in Wishaw Hospital having delivered my baby at 23 weeks and 2 days. As you can imagine he has a long, uncertain road ahead, but something strange happened today ..... or maybe not .... I had seen a crocheted blanket I wanted to make when I found out I was pregnant. I found the pattern but decided it was a bit too advanced for my beginner’s skills. Today at the reception at Neo Natal, there was a pile of blankets, donated by the Wednesday Group at your church, for the premature babies, saying to please help yourself. Right there on top ....... the blanket I wanted to make, exact pattern and colour! The verse pinned to the blanket read: For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13 1st A Tannochside Guides We’re well in to our new programme. Badges have been awarded for the first Skills Builders - Communicate, First Aid and Innovate. We also work on Unit Meeting Activities, recently completing ‘Against the law’ and ‘The two-match challenge’. This year Emily McMillan has completed her Baden- Powell award. (She will be the last guide to achieve this as under the new programme the highest badge will be the Gold award.) She has organised an international evening, completed her Agility badge, challenged herself to improve at hockey and told the Guides all about Fair Trade. Congratulations to Emily! We had planned to camp at Fordell Firs, but the dates didn’t suit. So, this year the two Guide units are off to Loch Lomond where the challenge for Saturday afternoon will be ‘I’m a Celebrity, get me out of here’. We enjoy cooking on a wood fire, singing songs, toasting marshmallows and having fun! We’re delighted that the Guides from Burnhead Church will be joining us.
