The Buckwheat Zydeco GLT Summer Concert is the best street party in town and it's a chance to hear Western Swing some up-and-comers alongside some Marshall Ford Swing Band tried-and-true bands. GLT Summer Concert headliner BZ: Oh, from age nine I was onstage as an organist. (laughs) BZ: It has been awhile, but we'll be comin' to party with you! JN: Why not? BZ: Because I heard it all the time growing up! JN: Was your father a musician as well? BZ: Sure was. He played the accordion, JN: But you ended up making a living playing the accordion. but he came from the "old school," and BZ: Well I played the organ for Clifton for two years, and I knew I was going to end before it was called "zydeco," it was called up playing the accordion, because there was so much energy, man. Clifton would "la-la."
