For more information and to register, visit https://www.aamva.org/Webinars/ AAMVA Participates in the IACP 2020 Conference On Thursday, October 22, AAMVA members conducted a virtual presentation at the 2020 IACP Conference to discuss law enforcement interaction with the mobile Driver’s License (mDL). This session presented factors behind the movement from the traditional driver’s license to a mobile format, sharing how law enforcement can utilize this technology to enhance efficiencies. The presentation examined technology requirements, standards, interoperability, and national and international efforts. Attendees received a variety of resources including the AAMVA mDL FAQ for Law Enforcement. Participating AAMVA members included: Captain Todd Hartline, Nevada Highway Patrol; Mike McCaskill, Chief Administrative Officer, Florida Highway Patrol; and Paul Steier, Law Enforcement Program Manager, AAMVA. Kansas to Join State-to-State Verification Service (S2S) Kansas shall begin using the State-to-State Verification Service (S2S) on Monday, December 14, 2020. Tasks related to on-boarding Kansas will be conducted during the weekend of December 12, 2020. Now Available: License Plate Standard - Edition 2 and License Plate Verification Program License plates quickly identify motor vehicles and vehicle registrant information and are most effective when they are designed to optimize legibility to the human eye as well as for license plate readers (LPRs). License plates serve one common purpose: to identify motor vehicles.AAMVA's License Plate Standard - Edition 2 was developed to support a jurisdiction’s ability to produce license plates that enhance accurate license plate identification while not limiting a jurisdiction’s flexibility for innovation and allowing for multiple license plate designs. It is designed for full-size license plates issued by jurisdictions; portions of it may not apply to smaller license plates typically issued to motorcycles and other similar vehicles. *Register for the following training sessions HERE. To assist jurisdictions in determining if their license plates meet these standards, AAMVA is now offering the License Plate Verification Program (LPVP). The LPVP provides jurisdictions, at no cost, the opportunity to submit up to four license plates OCTOBER - UNI during each AAMVA fiscal year for comparison to the 2020 AAMVA License Plate Standard.
