
354 About the Contributors Adeyinka Tella is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Tella is a Commonwealth Scholar who finished his PhD in September 2009 from the Department of Library and Information Studies; University of Botswana where he was awarded small grant for thesis writing for the PhD cat- egory in 2007 by the Council of Development in Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA). He has written and published articles mostly in internationally reputable, refereed journals, together with chapters in books. He is one of the contributors to an information science reference “Cases on Success- ful E-learning Practices in the Developed and Developing World: Methods for the Global Information Economy.” Currently, he is the Associate Editor International Journal of Library and Information Science, and Editor-in-Chief- International Journal of Information Processing and Communication. He is also editorial board member, for Library Philosophy and Practice. Tella is an external examiner for Library and Information Science PhD candidates at Annamalai University and Bharathidasan University, Trichy, both in India. His re-search areas include e-learning, information literacy, information communication technology and management, information system evaluation, and psychology of information. Abdulwahab Olanrewaju Issa holds DLS (1987), BLS (1991), and MLS (1996) Degrees from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a PhD from the University of Ibadan (2007). He has taught in different library schools in Nigeria since 1992, including the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; the Fed- eral Polytechnic, Offa; Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode; Kwara State University, Malete, and is currently, Senior Lecturer at University of Ilorin. He has also been an ex-Head of a LIS Depart- ment, ex-Director, Centre for Contining Education and ex-Chief Lecturer, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Nigeria, Issa was once Vice-Chairman and now Chairman, Nigerian Library Association, Kwara State Chapter, and thus, a National Council member of NLA. * * * Titilola A. B. Abdul-Salam was born 44 years ago at Ilorin, Kwara state of Nigeria. She graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from University of Ilorin in 1994. She got Master’s in Library and Information Science from International Islamic University Malaysia in 1997. She is presently a Librarian II at University of Ilorin library. Her research interests are in the area of cataloguing, digital library, and library education. About the Contributors Lydia O. Adedibu was born in Ogbomoso, Oyo state Nigeria in 1950. She attended Morehead State University, Kentucky, USA and got her Bachelor of Arts degree in Library Studies and Sociology in 1970. She got her Master’s degree in Library Studies from University of Ibadan in 1985. She joined the service of the University of Ilorin in 1978. At the University Library, she has worked in various depart- ments such as circulation, cataloguing, and acquisition. Currently, she is a principal Librarian and the head of technical services division. In academics, she has written fifteen articles published in reputable local, national, and international journals. She also has published bibliographies and chapters in books. She has attended many professional conferences, workshops, and seminars by the Nigerian Library As- sociation. She has served on many committees and boards of the University. Her research interests are in the area of cataloguing and Library Management. Niran Adetoro is currently a Senior Lecturer and Head, Department of Library and Information Sci- ence, Tai Solarin University of Education. Nigeria. He holds a Dip.Lib., B.Ed., MLS, and PhD Degrees from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr. Adetoro is a Chartered Librarian with over fifteen years experience in academic libraries, and he is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). Dr. Adetoro has taught students at all levels in three Universi- ties in Nigeria. His research interests include Information Technology and Management, Information Services to the Visually Impaired, and Psychology of Information. Lenrie Olatokunbo Aina is a Professor of Library and Information Science at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Professor Aina holds BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Postgraduate Diploma in Librarianship, M.Phil Information Science, and PhD Library Studies. He is currently the President, Nigeria Library Association, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, and Head of the Depart- ment of Library and Information Science, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Professor Aina has published extensively. He has edited two books: “Research in Information Sciences: An African Perspective” and “Agricultural Information in Africa,” and two reference sources “Who is Who in Library” and “Informa- tion Science Institutions in Africa.” He is the editor-in-chief of the African Journal of Library Archives and Information Science. Professor Aina has served as external examiner in fifteen universities in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Sierra-Leone, South-Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia. Evelyn O. Akinboro was born 54 years ago at Owo, Ondo state of Nigeria. She graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1975. She got Master’s and PhD in Library Studies from University of Ibadan in 1981 and 2006, respectively. She worked in the Library of National Cereals Research Institute, Moor Plantation Ibadan. Presently, she is a Senior Librarian in the university library. She has worked in several units of the library, but now the chief cataloguer. She has attended many professional conferences, workshops, and seminars by the Nigerian Library Association. She has many journal publications to her credit. She has served on many committees and boards of the university. Her research interests are in the area of cataloguing, Grey literature, and information literacy. Ayodele John Alonge holds Nigeria Certificate in Education (English/Pol.sc), a Bachelor Degree in Library, Archival & Information Studies (BLIS), and Master’s in Publishing & Copyright Studies (MPCS) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is a Freelance Consultant with Optimistic-Concept Library & Information Consulting (OLIC), an organisation whose focus is to revitalize Library Services in Nigeria. He is a member of Nigerian Library Association (NLA) and an Associate of Chartered In- stitute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP), United Kingdom. He is the winner of NLA’s Dr. James O. Daniel Award for the most Innovative Library-Based ICT Project of the Year 2009 for his explore on application Social Media in Librarianship. He is a PhD, student at the University of Ibadan working on social media and information literacy. He lives in Lagos, Nigeria. Mehtab Alam Ansari holds BSc, MA, MLISc., M. Phil., & two PhD degrees and is presently working as an Asst. Professor in the Department of Library & Information Science, AMU, Aligarh (India). Dr. Alam has authored two books and also contributed several articles in various national and international journals, books, and magazines. Previously working as Assistant Librarian in Dr. Zakir Husain Library, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, Dr. Mehtab has also been associated with internationally reputed companies such as VTLS, Softlink, and LibSys in different capacities. As an employee of VTLS, Dr. Mehtab has also received advanced level training on Virtua software at Blacksburg, USA. His area of interest includes library automation, digital library, and application of IT in libraries. Fatai A. Aremu teaches in the Department of Political Science, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. in Asia Pacific Studies from the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan) where he was awarded a “Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Quality of Dissertation.” His research focus cov- ers international political economy, comparative foreign policy analysis, Asia-Pacific, and development studies. He is the author of Asymmetrical Foreign Policy Behaviour of Japan and China (2011). He is co-editor (with H. A. Saliu) of Introduction to International Relations (2011) and Theories of International Relations (2011). His works have appeared in several reputable journals including African and Asian Studies (Leiden, Netherlands), Ritsumeikan Journal of Asia Pacific Studies (Japan) and Asia Pacific World (USA), and Nigerian Journal of International Affairs, among others. M. T. Bashorun is a Lecturer with the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He holds BSc in Biology/Education from Obafemi Awolowo University, Master of Library and Information Studies, University of Ibadan. He previously worked as Education Officer II with the Civil Service Commission, Oyo State Government and Business Development Manager with the Nigerian Bottling Company, Nigeria.
