Salman Khan, one of Bollywood’s leading directors and stars, demonstrated his global appeal driving audiences to the ticket counters during the opening weekend and amassed a significant US$ 12.7 million gross (US$ 9.7 million net) in India and US$ 3.6 million. At the domestic box office, despite being a non-holiday, the film opened US$ 2.8 million on Friday followed by US$ 2.7 million on Saturday.
