Vol. 36 | Summer 2021 4 Connect the Dots 7 Stephen A. Ralph Joins Board 8 It’s All About Love New Campus Progresses Construction is underway at Doheny Eye Institute’s new campus, located at 150 North Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena, California. In late July of 2020, an excavator turned the first earth on the project, which will accomplish a complete transformation of the campus to meet the Institute’s range of complex eye research needs. When fully com- pleted, this seven-acre site will be home to Doheny’s vision research center and administrative offices, as well as Doheny Eye Center UCLA clinical spaces, and operating suites. Bringing the institute’s exceptional team of doctors, researchers, and staff together in this 115,000-square foot space will make possible the unique synergies achieved when ideas and innovations can be exchanged under one roof. Additionally, to broaden the reach of Doheny’s edu- cation programs, an on-site multi-media conference center will allow the hosting of meetings, seminars, symposia, etc., both in-person and virtually, for vision researchers and doctors from the region or across the globe. In describing the enthusiasm of the entire organization, Marissa Goldberg, Doheny’s Chief Executive Officer, stated, “The new campus will be contemporary, welcoming (continued on page 2) doheny.org 342626_Newsletter.r1.indd 1 8/2/21 3:34 PM InSight Summer 2021 | doheny.org (continued from page 1) DEAR FRIENDS and fresh.
