Since joining OPX in 1998, he has served as a senior associate in the firm, supervising multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of project types. In this role, he prepares project budgets and schedules; oversees coordination and quality assurance of documents; and, interfaces with clients. In addition to project management, Mr. Gellatly also has experience with design, planning, construction document preparation, construction administration and inspections, review and development of specifications, shop drawing review, cost estimating, and permitting. The Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State centerpiece of the proposed project is the restoration and long-term preservation of the century-old University, 1981 First Church of Christ, Scientist, building. The future hotel will feature between 17 4 and 227 guest rooms with amenities such as food and beverage space, rooftop deck, gym, and spa and clothing boutique. Designed several wide-ranging concept alternatives including a redress of the existing structure, demolition of part of the structure in order to add a new tower to increase the square footage for guests' rooms without augmenting the facility's footprint, and a new concept that includes an innovative retail component. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Student Center, Savannah, GA Project Manager for this 8,000 SF adaptive re-use project, which converted the former St. Andrews Independent Episcopal Church, located in Savannah's historic district, into a Campus Student Center.
