There were various ways to spend the day and just to wander around Stratford with its history and old buildings proved very interesting. There were numerous small independent shops for the "shopaholics" to visit and a choice of cafes and restaurants for those wanting refreshments. Lunch could also be had at the Garrick Inn, a traditional black and white pub and, dating back to the 15th century, said to be the oldest in Stratford. There was also the opportunity to ride on the Tour Bus which visited Mary Arden's Farm - Mary being the mother of Shakespeare - Shakespeare's birthplace and Ann Hathaway's Cottage. Some members took a one hour boat trip down the River Avon. Later in June, Charlotte from Wiltshire Farm Foods brought to our meeting an appe- tising selection of meals for members to taste so that they could choose their favour- ites and place an order if they so wished. Several members took advantage of this. Deliveries are made to the Quedgeley area every Thursday morning between 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. Meals include vegetarian, gluten-free and those for special diets. Wiltshire Farm \foods work very closely with the NHS. Dishes can be chosen from a large selection of main meals and desserts - too numerous to mention indi- vidually as there are over 300. Everyone was able to take advantage of the tasters and it was agreed that they were delicious. For more information W.F.F. can be contacted by telephone on 01793 751 176 or online at www.wiltshirefarmfoods.com. The Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month (except August) at Quedgeley Village Hall.
