The students are using the online Desny system to search for books, place them on hold using their personal accounts and enjoying AR tesng opportunies using the IPads in the library. The library staff are looking forward to the new facility and were told that we would have our own cart of laptops next year! Imagine the possibilies! Welcome to our Kindergarten students who are checking out books for the FIRST TIME! How excited these youngsters are as they peruse the library cart looking for a literary gem to take home. Parents, please use this opportunity to read with your child so that they can experience the joy of hearing your voice and receiving comprehension assistance. I recall reading to my own children when they were young and I truly miss those years! Please be reminded that books need to be returned on me in the same condion that they were checked out…there are fines for overdue books and ones that are damaged. Our students need to learn to be responsible and respecul of school property. Thank you, for your connued support and for encouraging your child to read! We kicked off the New Year with a fitness unit in PE to start the year off trying to work on our cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility. Students ran their second PACER test of the year to test their cardiovascular strength. Hoping for improvement from the beginning of the school year we compared both scores to get an idea of where our school is as a whole. Students work in small groups at staons going through a circuit workout doing various fitness based acvies. Each staon lasts about two and a half minutes where students are constantly working and striving for improvements. We also introduced a new fitness game "Speedway", where students use a combinaon of soccer, ulmate football and handball. Speedway is a fast paced game that requires a lot of movement, various skills and strategic taccs. The game aims to increase student’s aerobic capacity and cardiovascular endurance!
